The
Griffiths diaries
Cursed by an
unaccountable urge to communicate, here are 3 diaries posted between 2000
and 2003.
And you can always turn to the blog if you want something more up to date. Diary
1: The
first 10 weeks as a freelancer for all those who might be curious or
rash enough to consider it as an occupation. Written autumn of 2000.
Diary
2: The first 3 months of going broadband. In 2002-2003 the UK went
from a 1% household penetration of broadband to over 25%. What's the
big deal and why can't those who have switched bear to be without it?
After
all it costs a lot more than basic internet access and its faster and
always on. So what? Written spring of 2003.
Diary
3: Using a PDA. Or where the 2002 tax rebate got spent. This filofax
wielding planner decided to see what all the fuss was about and bought
a pocket PC with all the bells and whistles: bluetooth and wireless.
Worth a ponder since mass adoption of these technologies will take
mobile communications far beyond those annoying SMS messages telling
you you've won a holiday for 2 in Tenerife so call a number that costs
a £1 a minute to claim your prize. Written summer of 2003.
